They sing songs of bad love, failure, disgrace, and damaged democracy. Their sound is a little Violent Femmes, a bit Billy Bragg, and some Baader-Meinhof. The Pinkos are too old to be darlings, too sordid to be naïve, and too scruffy to be sweet. After all, if you can't start a brawl with a big mouth and an acoustic guitar, what good are you?
